In recent years, healthcare has experienced dramatic change, extraordinary competition, and increasingly complex regulation, in addition to high political visibility. The healthcare industry is a broad and complex industry consisting of healthcare providers, managed care operators, various kinds of vendors – supplies, services, medical products and medical devices, in addition to patients and payers (employers in many cases).

Xoriant has provided software product engineering services as well as product consulting services to various components of the healthcare industry, including hospitals, insurance companies, device vendors and consumer facing healthcare portal operators. In several cases, our teams have also been involved in compliance testing and compliance management.

Some of the projects that we have done for the healthcare industry include:

• Design and development of Oracle based data warehouse for patient data for Southern California at a large HMO in California
• Development and testing (both functional testing and FDA compliance testing) of operator console for a medical device maker selling large systems for cancer radiation treatment.
• Design and development of a web based application to provide the medical imaging solution, being used by various radiology diagnostic centers, physicians and radiologists, administrators and transcriptionists
• Design and development of an Internet-driven health comparison shopping site and customer relevant tools to enhance revenue opportunities for our client, a health insurance broker.
